few tips on safer internet

  • always have firewall installed. windows firewall useless in watching outbound traffic
  • never open any apps that access the internet with administrator right. see nonadmin
  • use filtered dns or hosts file so you dont open websites that inject malware to your windows without you aware of it.
  • use alternatif browsers, like greenbrowser / maxthon or firefox / opera / safari. internet explorer is the most attacked (if you dont see it as least secure) browser
  • use defensewall OR cyberhawk
  • use 1-defender OR sanboxie
  • use alternatif messenger client
  • use alternatif mail client (like thunderbird, eudora, etc…) outlook (express) is also the most attacked (if you dont see it as least secure) mail client
