I burned the disc and booted it up on my laptop with similar results….no start bar..just flashes where one should be and wicd gives an error about not being able to talk to it's d-bus connection (did same in virtualbox)…can you provide the md5sum for the download so I can verify that I got a good copy? I'll say up front I don't think thats the issue as I got the same errors when I tried to build an appliance and I did verify the md5sum on mine but never hurts to be certain.

tried new version….no start bar when lxde comes up…just flickers over and over…at least thats what it did in virtualbox. The version I tried to create did same thing so seems to be issue with the lxde repo.

Opensuse 11.2 is now supported in Suse studio. I understand if you have things going on and can't upgrade your iso right away but if possible could you cut/paste the list of repos and packages you have included in your application and just briefly mention if you had to make file overlays of anything?

I'll be honest…I'd really like to make a laptop friendly version by including wicd (and it's dependencies such as wireless-tools etc)…..and possible ndiswrapper. Getting the wifi working on a laptop is kinda a catch 22 because you need a working internet source to download files to get wifi working but the wifi is your working internet source. ;)

why?
because this distro basically have different principle from any other existed distro.
this one aim at being minimal. only basic distro with minimal X (currently, using lxde) and firefox. that's it.

btw. currently, susestudio do not support 11.2

yes it is.

i will maintain this as it's the minimal desktop. without office apps, etc. just the basic. lxde + firefox.

Not sure if you already knew but I noticed when I installed Milestone6 of 11.2 it included compcache by default from the kde 1cd install.

I used Yahoo pipes to filter your twitter rss feed and only show the items with "opensuse" in them. It's available @ http://tinyurl.com/opensuse-lxde for anyone who wants to use it.

no. no idea.
but you need to know one thing.
the xdm.bin came with susestudio is not the same xdm that came with x.org
even the x.org people do not know about this file.
it's built especially for susestudio uses.

try install the real xdm. or perhaps slim or others…
