Building Linux Livecd With Antivirus
building puppy linux livecd to clean your windows from virus & malware:
- download puppy http://www.puppyos.com/download/downpage.htm
- burn to a new blank cd. allow multi session http://puppylinux.org/wikka/CreatingMultiSessionFromPuppy
- boot your new puppy http://puppylinux.org/wikka/BootingFromCD
- if you want a usbflash version, install puppy to your usb and boot from it http://www.puppyos.com/flash-puppy.htm
- from your new puppy, download and install xfprot http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?mode=attach&id=1146
- read how to install dotpup http://puppylinux.org/wikka/DotPups
- download latest f-prot antivirus for linux http://files.f-prot.com/files/linux-x86/fp-linux-ws.tar.gz
- extract f-prot
cd ~/my-applications/f-prot
tar -zxvf fp-linux-ws.tar.gz
- now f-prot is installed and you can run xfprot gui to update the antivirus and scan your system
- you can also download avast linux home edition http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-for-linux-edition.html
- just extract it and ready to run, complete with gui
tar -zxvf avast4workstation-x.x.x.tar.gz
- then, you must register (free) to get your license http://www.avast.com/eng/home-registration.php
- then run avast and update the antivirus and ready to scan your system
- you now have a livecd with the latest antivirus update you can carry anywhere to clean your friends' and families' computer from virus and malware.
this is what i carry with me when a friend/family ask to clean up their windows. i have both cd and usbflash version.
